Inspired Pet Nutrition has sponsored permanent Christmas trees at three local churches in Wales.
A year ago IPN, which also has a manufacturing site in North Yorkshire, launched its Positive Pawprint project with the target of becoming the UK’s most sustainable pet food business. It is already the UK’s first major pet food manufacturer to become carbon negative as well as offsetting the individual carbon footprint of every employee..
As part of Positive Pawprint, IPN committed to planting one million trees and has teamed up with Ecologi, an environmental organisation helping to reduce global greenhouse gases by planting trees.
The new trees are in place at churches in Kinmel Bay and St Mary’s, and at the Festival Church in Towyn.
Dylan Thomas, Clerk at Towyn & Kinmel Bay Town Council, said: “This generous offer from IPN arrived just as we were thinking about planting permanent Christmas trees instead of them being cut down annually. The Churches are delighted with the 12ft trees which will create a real impact over the festive period and the initiative could lead to the Council going ahead with our own permanent trees next year.”
