Award-winning small animal product firm HayPigs! has been celebrating its third birthday, with co-founder Rik Cridland saying: “It has been an incredible journey.”
The HayPigs! story began when Rik and wife Helen adopted a pair of male guinea pigs called Nutmeg and Neptune.
Rik, who spent 10 years as a product designer, felt there was a lack of specially-designed toys for guinea pigs and decided to create a few himself.
Rik and Helen, who now have a total of nine guinea pigs, launched HayPigs! in 2017 and won a pbwnews-sponsored New Product Award at PATS Telford with one of their first products – Piggy Weightlifter – the same year.
HayPigs! has also been shortlisted at both the PIF and PetQuip Industry Awards in its short life.
