Trade association UK Pet Food has released two new resources to provide additional support for feeding and nutrition of birds and fish.
The Parrot Feeding Guide poster and Fish Nutrition Factsheet are available for display by pet retailers, vets, and other pet professionals to be shared with owners.
The parrot poster details the dietary requirements and foraging behaviours of pet parrots and features illustrations, essential information, and links to other parrot resources. The fish factsheet is designed to be a comprehensive guide to the art of fish nutrition, explaining the range of nutritional requirements and feeding strategies available and the connection between food and water quality.
Nicole Paley, deputy chief executive at UK Pet Food, said: “These resources demonstrate UK Pet Food’s commitment to providing professionals and pet owners with the nutritional knowledge to care for their pets responsibly.”
UK Pet Food’s educational offering includes 40 factsheets and posters. Both the parrot poster and the fish factsheet are available to download for free on the UK Pet Food website www.ukpetfood.org.
