Raw food supplier Mersey Raw is embarking on a full rebrand to help the brand’s expansion into the retail channel.
The Liverpool-based company has up to now operated largely on a subscription model, supported by around 90 local retailers, and has reached annual sales of nearly £1m. The firm is now aiming to work with store owners nationwide by creating a more retail-friendly version of its packaging.
Mersey Raw provides a range of boneless and complete mince recipes as well as natural treats using human grade meats including chicken, pork, lamb, beef, venison, turkey, rabbit, duck, tripe, goose and goat, plus fish lines within its treat range. Customers can buy single varieties or bundled packages.
Company founder Ben McIntyre said: “Our ideal stockist is one who wants to push the best products based on quality not just margin. If pushed, our products move incredibly well and retain strong customer retention. Our stockist is one who works alongside us, gives us valuable feedback and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone – we will work together to have a mutually beneficial relationship.”
McIntyre has been named as a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category by The Entrepreneurs Circle.
He added: “Our goals for the future are to expand our network and our database. We plan to feed as many dogs as possible a raw diet not just a basic diet but a quality nutritional advanced diet removing all harmful and unnecessary ingredients from their food. We will build a community of passionate dog owners leading the way in the world of nutrition.”
