Raw dog food company Naturaw is celebrating after winning the Food and Drink award at the recent Made in Yorkshire Awards.
The award was open to manufacturers of all types of food, not just pet food. The Wetherby-based company only uses human grade ingredients and 100% British meat with a high focus on high animal welfare. All chicken and turkey used in the recipes is free range or organic.
Co-Founder Tom Johnson said: “Whilst this isn’t the first award we’ve won, this one is of huge significance. Thinking of what we feed our beloved dogs as real, proper food, made from real ingredients is the key driving force behind what we do and why we do it. We’re also Yorkshire through and through!
“As humans, we are all paying more attention to what we eat these days. Unless you’re an astronaut, eating a varied diet of food that’s fresh, not highly processed and artificially preserved is preferable – but for some reason, the same mindset is traditionally lacking when it comes to what we feed the four-legged members of the family. We’re passionate about changing that.”
