New Zealand pet food brand Nood has hit UK shelves this week, launching its premium product range exclusively at Tesco.
Nood prides itself on providing ‘honest ingredients as fuel for pets’, so it excludes common allergens such as gluten, eggs and dairy, and has no artificial flavouring, preservatives, sugar or salt. The full range is suitable for all life stages and includes dry food for dogs, and dry and wet food for cats.
The startup was founded in New Zealand in 2019 by 18-year-old Alistair King, in partnership with New Zealand entrepreneur, Zuru founder and retail brand builder Nick Mowbray.
In its first 18 months of business, Nood sold more than 30 million bowls of pet food across four markets and this autumn’s launch in Tesco is set to continue the brands growth, with eight million units forecast to be sold in its first year in the UK.
Nood founder Alistair King said: “We’re so excited and very fortunate to partner with large supermarkets such as Tesco to distribute Nood, which allows for the economies of scale to produce high-quality recipes affordably and, unlike many larger companies, we pass these savings on to customers”
UK prices start at £3.99.
