Essex Breeding Centre has publicly thanked its ‘wonderful staff’, who continue to go into work every day to care for the animals they love.
“We would also like to thank our customers, who are supporting us through this crisis by continuing to keep pets moving through their shops if it is safe to do so,” said owner Phil Gibbs.
The Government document on animal businesses during the lockdown period was published last week. It allows pet shops to sell small animals to the public using the guidance procedures – and also allows Essex Breeding Centre to continue to sell the animals it has in stock to its retail customers.
“This guidance profides a lifeline to us as we have many, many young animals coming though our system that need to be pets in someone’s home,” Phil said.
“People must come first and we are selling our animals only to shops that are comfortable in the knowledge that they have the correct procedures in place to sell pets safely at this time..
“To help move our growing numbers of stock along to our customers we are happy at this time to sell fewer animals to each of our outlets. Two by two is better than none at all.
“Thanks again for supporting us.”
