A pet product supplier has teamed up with a major department store to open its first ‘in person’ retail outlet at the weekend.
Simply2 Pet Products is selling its extensive range, including the popular ProFleece pet bedding, inside the Browns department store in York.
“This is our first venture as a company into selling products in person as opposed to online,” said Simply2 director Bethany Corbett. “We’ve been running successfully online since 2018 and are really excited to be able to branch out like this so that customers can see our products in person when making their decision to buy.”
The new venture came about when Simply2, based near York, was approached by Krista Brown, wife of the store’s managing director Nick Brown. She asked whether the company would like to help Browns venture into the pet product market.
“Browns department store is a cornerstone of York city centre and known for great quality. They’ve never sold pet care products before, so we’re honoured to be involved,” added Bethany, who runs Simply2 with her sister Michelle Ingram.
The pet concession in Browns has been stocked with Simply2’s wide range of products. As well as the ProFleece pet bedding, customers will be able to buy the company’s Treat’Em grain-free dog treats and Compoost’Em dog poo bags.
Simply2 has also introduced its new line of collars and leads in Browns, which are called Ebor to celebrate the company’s Yorkshire heritage, and unveiled NanoSanitas, a line of grooming products from Greece.
The new venture opened on Saturday, July 15, when the first 50 customers received a goodie bag containing Treat’Em dog treats.
