Pet owners spent nearly £5m on their pets over Christmas 2018, according to research from pet food brand Webbox Naturals.
The study of 3,230 pet owners found that 87% of them would buy their pet a Christmas present in 2019 and, of those, more than a quarter said they would spend more on their four-legged friends than on their own dad.
Webbox senior brand manager Camille Ashforth said: “The most popular items from our festive range include turkey and cranberry flavoured treats – proof that Britain’s pets, like their owners, also have a love of festive food.
“Squeaky sprouts and cuddly reindeer toys have also been highly requested this year, so it looks like everyone will be getting into the Christmas spirit – two legs or four!”
