Pet DNA test brand Wisdom Panel is joining forces with West End hairdresser Duck & Dry to offer both dogs and their owners a pre-Christmas makeover, while at the same time raising money for dog rescue.
The pop-up beauty salon, which will be operating at the hairdresser’s Mayfair branch from 5.30–9.00pm on December 7–8, will be offering a range of pre-bookable dual treatments including a nail polish for human and paw trim for dog, and wash & blow-dry for human and fur-facial for dog.
There are no set costs for the treatments, but customers will be asked to make a donation of their choice to rescue charity All Dogs Matter. All guests will be treated to complimentary prosecco and a ‘bauble bonding’ experience in which their new looks will be photographed and printed onto baubles and digital Christmas cards as a keepsake. Those that have booked a DNA test three weeks in advance will be able to discuss the results at the event with a Wisdom Panel expert.
A recent poll of Wisdom Panel’s pet DNA database found that dog-owners feel closer to their dogs through shared experiences that promote bonding and fun.
Georgina Richardson, head of Wisdom Panel UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching the Short, Bark & Sides Beauty Salon in time for Christmas. Owning a dog is one of the most enriching and meaningful experiences in life and with 100% of our customers actively seeking bonding experiences with their dogs, we can’t wait to see which breeds and owners will pair up together for some fantastic salon looks.
“In order to book, we just ask for a minimum donation to rescue charity All Dogs Matter upon booking as part of our commitment to supporting rescue charities in what is an unprecedented time for pet abandonment.”
Wisdom Panel is part of the Kinship brand coalition, which is a division of Mars Petcare.
