A raw pet food manufacturer is recalling several frozen raw pet food products due to the presence of salmonella.
This is the second recall by Raw Treat Pet Food in less than a month. Earlier this month, the Wales-based company issued a recall for four batches of its frozen food because Listeria monocytogenes had been found in the products.

No other Raw Treat Pet Food products are known to be affected.
The Food Standards Agency said salmonella is a bacterium that can cause illness in humans and animals.
A spokesman said: “The product could therefore carry a potential risk, because of the presence of salmonella, either through direct handling of the pet food, or indirectly, for example from pet feeding bowls, utensils or contact with the faeces of animals. In humans, symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Infected animals may not necessarily display signs of illness, but symptoms can include diarrhoea.”
Point of sale notices are on display in all retail stores that are selling these products.
Customers who bought the products are advised to return them to the store for a full refund.
