The Nutriment Company (TNC) has acquired manufacturer BAF Petfood, its fourth acquisition since the start of the year.
Based in Thalmassing, southern Germany, BAF Petfood claims to be Germany’s first raw food factory and operates a pet food facility with over 9,000 sq m of production and storage space. The company has established itself as a supplier to Fressnapf franchise partners throughout Germany.
Through the acquisition, TNC will be able to expand its product range to include steamed sausages and gently cooked frozen products, while also gaining access to Fressnapf’s retail network. Fressnapf franchise partners, in turn, will gain access to TNC’s entire brand portfolio via a shared frozen food logistics center.
TNC chief executive Anders Kristiansen said: “We now have the ability to produce all product types and formats, providing a true one-stop shop for both Fressnapf and our many other valued customers on the Continent.”
Torsten Toeller, founder and chief executive of Fressnapf, added: “Together with TNC, we will continuously drive new trends, such as raw food and gently cooked fresh pet food.”
