Two Emotional Support Dogs have won a holiday in a competition to reward hard-working canines with jobs.
Bob Dylan and Billy Elliot, along with owner Amanda Laycock, won the break to five-star Dalriada Luxury Lodges in the Scottish coastal town of Stonehaven after receiving hundreds of public votes.
Bob, a Jack Russell-cross, and shih tzu Billy provided round-the-clock emotional support for Amanda after she suffered a neck injury that resulted in severe unbalance, even accompanying her to medical appointments so they could provide a ‘calming and reassuring’ presence.
Amanda, from Halifax, West Yorkshire, said: “They are like a pair of bookends – they are always sitting either side of me and I’d be lost without them. They do so much for me: entering this competition and getting their story out there was my way of saying thank you.”
Dalriada Lodges, a pet-friendly venue, comprises eight luxury self-catering lodges that hold a five-star rating from VisitScotland. All have two en-suite bedrooms, a spacious lounge and kitchen area and south-facing decking.
