A kind-hearted pilot stopped his plane after noticing a baby hedgehog on the runway while preparing for take-off.
The Loganair plane, bound for Inverness, was taxiing to the runway in Stornoway when the prickly creature made an appearance.
Passengers were told the reason for the delay over the tannoy as they waited for the hoglet to cross, reported the Metro.
