Job seekers need to think carefully about what and how they share on social media, specialist pet trade recruitment expert Lynda Ward says.
Lynda, founder of Pet Trade Solutions, warns that prospective employers nowadays will automatically check on candidates’ online presence…and take the application process no further if what they see falls short of the standards they would look for in an employee.
Top of the turn-offs are:
* Drunken photos
* Inappropriate opinions
* Swearing
* Too much personal information
* Lewd jokes.
Lynda, who uses her 30+ years’ experience in the trade for dedicated recruitment and marketing solutions, said: “The covid lockdown in particular resulted in people posting more than ever and some people suddenly and surprisingly went just that bit too far.”
The acid test, she says, is:”If your mother wouldn’t like then a prospective employer wouldn’t either!”
