Dogs that guard resources, snap and appear grumpy may be more easily trained by a stranger than their happy-go-lucky counterparts, researchers from Eotvos Lorand University have reported in Animals.
Grumpy and agreeable dogs performed about the same when shown by their owner how to complete a task, but grumpy dogs performed better than agreeable ones when taught by a stranger, suggesting they may be more attentive.
Some dog behavior experts have questioned the findings, however, according to The New York Times.
