A greedy squirrel needed a helping hand after getting its tail tangled in a bracket holding up a bird feeder.
RSPCA animal collection officer Vic Hurr was called to Sheep Wash Lane, in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, when someone found the stricken squirrel.
“I had to cut the bracket so I could slide his tail off as there was no way I could loop him back around as he was wriggling furiously,” she said. “He was very feisty but I was glad to see him with so much spirit as it meant he wasn’t in too much pain.
“He bit my hands several times so thank goodness I was wearing gloves. That’s gratitude for you.”
The squirrel was released following a quick check-up.
