Pet rehoming site Pets4Homes has introduced a new range of features designed to protect the safety of animals on the platform and give new owners peace of mind throughout the rehoming process.
The Puppy Protection Programme includes a new Full Payments Feature, which will keep users’ payment for pets with a third party until the transaction is finalised, and a
six-month Pet Health Warranty, which allows site users to claim a full refund if an animal rehomed through Pets4Homes becomes critically ill after being rehomed.
Upon viewing the pet, buyers pay the full amount upfront, with Pets4Homes transferring a deposit to the seller and holding the remainder of the payment in escrow until the collection of the pet is confirmed. The buyer’s payment is fully backed by the protection programme, offering a full refund in case the puppy is not received at collection or becomes critically ill within the first six months.
The platform already uses high-tech features designed to improve the rehoming process and safeguard animals, including bank-grade ID Verification for breeders and using AI-powered image analysis to identify suspicious adverts before they are posted.
Axel Lagercrantz, ceo and co-founder of platform owner Pet Media Group, said: “Animal welfare is at the forefront of everything we do, and our new Puppy Protection Programme provides a new way to keep animals safe on our platform.
“Through the warranty for puppies rehomed through Pets4Homes, we are again putting pets first by making a commitment to prioritising animal health on our platform. Providing a financial guarantee in case of critical illness is made possible by our vetting procedures, to ensure that adverts on Pets4Homes are fully aligned with our mission to find loving homes for puppies from reputable breeders.”
