The Kennel Club is reminding owners to ensure their pet’s microchip details are up to date in time for the fireworks season.
The warning follows new statistics showing that 71% of details on microchipping databases are inaccurate.
Petlog is one of the largest databases.
Kennel Club’s chief operations officer, Jacquie Easton, said: “It is a good time of year to ensure that owners’ microchip details are up to date and, by registering with Petlog, owners can be reassured that their money is put back into rescue and welfare organisations.”
The club’s Petlog Premium upgrade offers owners a comprehensive range of lost and found services, intended to ensure they maintain accurate contact details.
