John Scargall with his dog, Tobey
A country rock artist has released a new track dedicated to the pain of pet loss ahead of Pet Remembrance Day (July 5).
John Scargall, who has breakthrough tunes on SoundCloud, Amazon and Apple Music, wrote about the pain of losing his dog, Tobey, just three days before he got married.
“When Tobey passed, my wife and I were devastated,” he said. “Creating the song Send My Fur Angel was part of the grieving process and it was the hardest song I’ve ever written…
“I’m just glad that we can honour Tobey and all of our fur angels with this song, because they truly are family forever.”
Pet lovers can nominate pets on social media, using the hashtag #PetRemembranceDay, to be immortalised in 3D by pet sculpture specialist Arty Lobster, which founded the campaign in 2015.
