The National Pet College (NPC) has announced that Vanity Fur Dog Grooming of Barry, South Wales, is now a NPC Approved Training Centre for dog grooming.
As a NPC Approved Training Centre, Vanity Fur Dog Grooming will be able to deliver the City and Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 dog grooming qualifications to learners across Wales, providing the future generation of dog groomers with the highest quality of training on topics such as bathing, drying, styling, legislation and maintaining animal welfare.
The business is owned and managed by Brian Howell and was named Grooming Business of the Year at the recent Pet Industry Federation Awards. Abbie Pope will be the lead tutor and assessor.
Vicky Skinner, head of education at The National Pet College, said: “We are delighted to welcome Vanity Fur on to the NPC roster of Approved Training Centres. Abbie has recently completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training so will be able to plan and deliver inclusive, practical teaching sessions and undertake assessments to a high standard.
“We will be supporting the Vanity Fur team every step of the way and would encourage other groomers interested in becoming trainers to get in touch with us here at NPC.”
Brian Howell added: “There have been major changes within the dog grooming sector over recent years, and a massive increase in dog ownership has brought new demands upon the role of grooming professionals.
“City and Guilds remains the ‘gold standard’ sector qualification offering unparalleled support for trainees and their training pathway. When offered with The National Pet College framework our trainees are assured that our tutors are not only sector qualified but are also verified to the highest delivery standards.”
