The UK is the most pet-loving nation in Europe, according to new research.
The survey, by Agria Pet Insurance, examined the feelings of pet owners from the UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and France. Respondents from the UK came top across the board with 96% of Brits head over heels for cats or dogs, compared with 79% of Danes.
Dogs also came out on top as being the most loved British pet with 97% of owners saying that they love their canine companions, compared with the lower – but still continent-beating figure – of 95% for British cat owners.
