Veterinary SQP regulator Vetpol has appointed Lisa Giddings to the role of professional development lead.
Having previously worked for many years in the veterinary business field, Giddins has developed strong relationships throughout the community and has an appreciation of the benefits SQPs can deliver in veterinary practices and in retail. She also works as a freelance consultant for Virbac, Westpoint Vets and her own project, Nurture Nature Farm.
Giddins will join Vetpol to help the team in its planning for the company’s first SQP Congress, taking place in Solihull on April 16, 2024. The congress will be the first of its kind, offering an opportunity for SQPs across the UK to meet other like-minded individuals, network and learn.
She said: “In my new role as professional development lead, I’ll be working closely with the team to raise awareness of what SQPs can deliver, so that everyone understands how they can help to improve animal welfare along with the wider benefits for the practices and businesses they work within.
“It’s really important to all of us at Vetpol to ensure that our learners and qualified SQPs have the opportunity to access high quality CPD and enjoy relevant learning experiences. I’m delighted to be working in a role where I can make such a positive difference.”
