Emergency veterinarian provider Vets Now has launched an awareness campaign to alert pet owners to common autumn hazards.
Vets Now is supplying free marketing materials to over 1,500 partner vet practices, who outsource their out-of-hours service to the organisation.
The campaign, tagged ‘Don’t lose your sparkle’, tackles a range of common hazards which surge during the autumn months including incidents connected to fireworks, antifreeze, mushrooms and toadstools, bonfires, burns and road traffic accidents, which rise with darker seasons. The materials include posters for waiting rooms and shareable infographics which can be used on practice websites and social platforms.
Vets Now marketing director Rike Jones said: “Vets Now invests heavily in its marketing in warning pet owners about commonly-occurring pet hazards – like chocolate ingestion at Christmas and Easter and heatstroke in the summer – to try and keep pets and their owners out of the emergency room.
“Whilst our emergency teams are always here to give pets the best possible care in the event of an emergency, our goal is prevention.”
As well as partnering with over 1,500 daytime practices, Vets Now runs more than 60 out-of-hours clinics plus 24-hour hospitals in Glasgow and Manchester.
The business also offers Video Vets Now, allowing owners to video chat with qualified vets for advice and treatment options, and an online pet care advice hub.
