Cornish retailer and wholesaler The Pets Larder is to sponsor a day of dog-friendly activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of charity The Cinnamon Trust.
The event, taking place at Hayle Recreation Ground, Hayle, Cornwall, on Bank Holiday Monday May 5, begins at 11am with The Big Walk, a scenic group stroll along the King George V Memorial Walk bringing together Cinnamon Trust supporters, volunteers, and their companion animals to celebrate the charity’s four decades of work. The walk is followed by a day of activities at the Recreation Ground, including a Dog Show hosted by Rewind Radio and a number of charity stalls featuring ‘puppuccinos’, a tombola, and other brands including Flicka, Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Sue’s Cat Rescue, and Prickles and Paws.
To mark the occasion, The Pets Larder is donating 6,000 natural dog treats to the event’s goodie bags, 3,000 from its in-house range and 3,000 provided by brand partners Natures Menu, Yora, Soopa, Denzel’s, Adios, and Earth Rated.
All registered walkers will be given a free bandana and goodie bag sponsored by The Pets Larder while stocks last.
The celebration forms part of the Cinnamon Trust’s nationwide Big Walk, designed to bring communities together, raise awareness, and celebrate the bond between people and their pets.
Natasha Long, business development leader at The Pets Larder said: “As a Cornish business, we’re honoured to support The Cinnamon Trust – an organisation that means so much to our community.
“Their work supporting elderly and terminally ill people with their beloved pets is extraordinary. We wanted to make their 40th anniversary truly memorable, and what better way than with a healthy, natural treat for every dog taking part!”
Katy Peck and Andy Larder, co-founders of The Pets Larder, added: “This is exactly what we’re all about – bringing people and pets together in a healthy, happy way. We believe in supporting the community that supports us, and we’re proud to work alongside our amazing brand partners to make this event extra special.”
