Pet boutique Doghouse is set to open up shop in another part of the country following the success of its first venture.
The shop, which hosts a groomers and canine café, has become a destination for dog-loving regulars and visitors to Bradford-on-Avon and was featured on the front of pbwnews in May 2020 for its helpful lockdown videos.
Now owner Ruth Warren has revealed she is branching out into new premises in Clifton Village, Bristol, at the end of the summer.
Ruth said: “This has been months and months of planning behind the scenes and it’s been a tough secret to keep but finally we can shout from the rooftops; we are bringing our own special brand of pet shoppery to a second Doghouse!”
The ‘unique business model’ at the new Bristol premises will include a grooming salon and DIY dog wash, a cafĂ© with outside seating plus a fully stocked pet shop with everything from luxury dog wear to tempting treats.
Ruth revealed that they often had customers coming into the shop saying they wished they had something similar back in their hometown, which was one of the prompts to think about new premises.
However, she added: “When I opened Doghouse back in 2017, I always thought I’d love to open more stores in the future…
“Well now the time has come and this time I’m surrounded by a brilliant team and a brilliant community, we are both excited and terrified but this time we know it works.
“It has been the most challenging of years but when the opportunity arose we dug deep because moments like this don’t come along too often. Clifton has been on our list as a top spot for a Doghouse so we just knew we had to make it happen.”
The new shop in Portland Street has already opened up a mailing list and a waiting list for its Clifton Grooming branch.
