A pet shop retailer has found herself on a list of the top 100 female entrepreneurs in the country.
Hannah James, owner of The Pet Shed, in Brighton, has made it onto the f:Entrepreneur #ialso Top 100 list, run by peak b, a campaigning organisation for small business.
The Pet Shed is a small independent pet shop and has been open for six years, concentrating on natural pet food, treats, toys and accessories.
Hannah also stocks items such as dog collars and leads that are supplied by small businesses and this approach, along with friendly customer service, is what she believes sets her apart.
On being listed in the #ialso Top 100, she said: “It is an honor to be recognised as an entrepreneur and multi-achieving business woman, and to be included with such an amazing group of incredible and inspiring women.
“Imagine my surprise when four of the other nominees not only come from Brighton, but one is my old school friend Chloe, who advised and supported me when I first opened my shop and has been a customer ever since, and Emma who I have known for a number of years and is currently helping me shape my business through business coaching.”
Interior designer Chloe Bullock has run Materialise Interiors for 14 years and Emma Mills-Sheffield is a strategic business consultant who set up Mindsetup.
The multi-award winning pet store was previously selected as one of the Small Business 100 in 2016 and won The Best Pet Shop in the UK in the DogFriendly Awards in 2018.
