A Buckinghamshire pet store has raised £1,000 to help stray animals in Sri Lanka.
Jollyes pet superstore, in High Wycombe, has been raising money for Animal SOS Sri Lanka since July 1 with help from their ‘fantastic customers’, the Bucks Free Press reports.
The charity uses donations to provide life-saving veterinary care, rehabilitation and refuge for stray animals in Midigama, in the south of the island.
The money raised in just four weeks has been used to create a container filled with over 825kg of dry dog food, 500 dog food tins and more than 150 blankets, toys, and other supplies ready to be shipped 5,000 miles to Sri Lanka.
