Retailer Jollyes has joined forces with the Stroke Association in Scotland to celebrate the calming role that pets play people’s lives, and particularly those recovering from a stroke.
A jointly branded “Stroke Squad’ vehicle will make its debut at the opening of the company’s new flagship store in Stirling on Saturday June 11, where shoppers will be invited to stroke pets owned by local member of the Stroke Association.
Central FM presenter Wolfy will be joined by store manager Angela Rennie and Jolene Lornie from the Stoke Association in Scotland to formally open the store. The 6,100sq ft outlet includes a grooming salon.
Jollyes regional manager Kerry Midgley said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our third store in Scotland, and because we’re proud to call ourselves ‘The Pet People’, what better way to do so than celebrating the amazing ways in which pets help look after us.”
Jolene Lornie, engagement officer for the Stoke Association in Scotland added: “The Stroke Association Scotland is passionate about rebuilding the lives of stroke survivors. We are committed to partnering with local communities and to ensure every stroke survivor have access to support and rehabilitation for as long as they need it.
“Pets can be such a source of comfort and pleasure and can really assist in the recovery and rehabilitation after stroke”.
After making its debut at Stirling, Jollyes’ service vehicle will tour the UK offering those in need of pet companionship the opportunity to benefit from its Stroke Squad.
