Owners of a family-run pet stall have closed their city centre business after more than three decades.
Doolan Pet Supplies – on Hanley indoor market – shut for the final time last weekend with fellow traders saying how much the stall will be missed.
According to a report on Stoke-on-Trent Live, a sign had been placed on the pet store revealing March 30 as the final day – although members of the family are continuing to operate at Stoke Indoor Market.
The message read: “After 32 years of trading at Hanley Market, the time has come for us to begin our retirement and we will therefore soon be closing down…
THANK YOU
“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years and also apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
“Our family will still continue to trade from our stall in Stoke Indoor Market on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, where we stock the same range of products at the same prices.
“Once again a heartfelt thank you, we’ll miss you all.”
A former employee said: “I worked there for 20 years. It’s a lifetime and I’m very sad to see it go.
“With a job like that, you make so many friends and that’s the worst part – saying goodbye to it all.”
