Southampton retailer Healthy Pet Store made sure local pets didn’t miss out on the Jubilee celebrations by organising a dog-themed street party outside the store.
Store owner Deborah Burrows brought in tables, armchairs, and Jubilee decorations for the celebration in the Totton area of the city. Local dogs were invited to tuck into pup-cakes, doggy tea and a range of training treats.
Attendees went home with a “pawty bag” for their dogs, including snacks, treats and a Kong keyring. The tstore eam also ran a charity tombola, with all proceeds going to Cats Protection and Dogs Trust.
Deborah said: “We were delighted to host so many owners and their dogs to our first doggy-tea party. Everyone had such a fun time and the pup-cakes and dog-friendly tea went down a treat.
“The Queen loves dogs and we’re sure she would love the idea of dogs celebrating with her by enjoying some tea and cake. We thought a dog tea-party was such a fitting way to celebrate.”
