A pet store has undergone a major transformation, including a name change and a move into new premises five times larger than its previous location.
Pups and Pets in Flintshire, north-east Wales, has become Pups, Pets and Ponies, and has relocated to a 10,000 sq ft building on Deeside Industrial Estate.
The new store, set to open today (June 9), includes a dog-friendly coffee shop called `Pups & Cups’ and an equestrian department.
The previous location of the store was in Dobshill, eight miles away.
Owner Victoria Clay said she was excited by the business expansion and couldn’t wait to welcome customers to the new store.
She admitted that she had drawn inspiration from customers when looking to expand, and that moving from a 2,000 sq ft building to 10,000 sq ft made business sense.
“Not only have we been able to increase the ranges our customers know and love – dogs, cats, small animal, birds and aquatic – we have also been able to introduce new reptile, equestrian, clothing and footwear departments and even have a doggy-friendly coffee shop on site,” she said.
