Retailer Pets at Home has donated over £350,000 in gift vouchers to the more than 700 charities involved in its Lifelines scheme.
Lifelines allows Pets at Home customers to directly support animal charities. Every time a customer swipes their Pets Club loyalty card while shopping, Lifelines points are collected and converted by Pets at Home into gift vouchers, which are donated to charities involved in the scheme. These vouchers can be redeemed by the charities in Pets at Home stores to purchase supplies such as pet food, bedding, and other accessories.
For the first time this year, every charity involved, regardless of size, has been allocated a £500 Lifelines gift voucher. Issued on February 14, the vouchers can be redeemed in any Pets at Home store within six weeks.
Pets at Home chief operating officer Anja Madsen said: “At Pets at Home, we’re incredibly proud to support the amazing work of the charities involved in our Lifelines scheme, and are thrilled to be spreading the love by donating more than £350,000 in gift vouchers this Valentine’s Day.
“Since launching Lifelines 12 years ago, we are proud to have donated over £23 million to animal charities across the UK. This is our way of saying thank you to these charities for the invaluable care they provide to pets and their communities.”
Rachel Frost, communications officer at Birmingham Dogs Home, added: “Pets at Home Lifelines play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the thousands of dogs that come into our care each year.
“The generosity of supporters through Pets at Home Lifelines makes an incredible difference, allowing us to go above and beyond in providing the care, love, and attention these dogs deserve. Thanks to this ongoing support, we can continue to give thousands of dogs a brighter future.”
