Pets at Home is to offer customers an express one-hour click & collect service thanks to a specialist order management system (OMS) being developed across the business.
The UK’s largest pet retailer wanted to make online shopping even more convenient for its customers after data analysis and consumer insights revealed people wanted a fast, flexible delivery and collection service.
Pets at Home will be offering customers the opportunity of picking up their goods from their local store 60 minutes after making their orders online, by using an OMS from OneStock to unify inventory across the business.
Where heavy or large items form part of an order, they can be home delivered separately at a later date. Customers also have the option to choose a later collection date.
“We know our customers love to collect their orders from our stores, so enhancing the collection experience through the launch of our one-hour click & collect will help us to meet expectations,” said Chris Holyland, group digital director at Pets at Home.
OneStock’s OMS means that Pets at Home customers can check local stores for accurate stock levels at all times. It will also deliver fulfilment efficiencies for Pets at Home as part of its overall omnichannel strategy, by reducing logistical costs.
Romulus Grigoras, CEO of OneStock, said: “An optimised OMS is increasingly becoming the cornerstone of every retailer’s IT system across all sectors. Implementing this customer-centric approach in response to changing expectations will allow Pets at Home to deliver a best-in-class online proposition. Shoppers can check local stores and be confident they can buy the goods and services they need.”
