Pets at Home Group has created a fundraising page to support charitable efforts on the ground in Ukraine.
The page, launched in partnership with the Pets at Home Foundation, will raise funds to help pet care professionals, pet owners and animals impacted by the crisis in Ukraine.
The Group has been in contact with several charities which have advised that funding is the best way to support relief efforts in the current environment. The donations will be distributed to charities that are helping on the ground in Ukraine and bordering countries.
Last week, the retailer pledged £100,000 to help charities supporting the aid effort, including a £20,000 donation to the International Fund for Animal Welfare to support rescue centres caring for thousands of pets that have been left behind as refugees flee the country.
Many independent pet stores and other pet businesses have set up their own local appeals and collections, including Raw benefits in Greenock, Scotland, and Natural Cornish Pet, which has teamed up with The Dog Groomery of Paulton, Somerset to travel to the Ukraine border to help animals in need.
In addition, manufacturer Su-Bridge Pet Supplies has sent three pallets of pet food to Ukraine to help feed the cats and dogs caught in the conflict.
