The Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association is starting to gather information on how pet shops and wholesalers have found the new licensing regime in England.
Now called an Animal Activities Licence, more businesses such as wholesalers are required to be inspected.
On its Facebook page, OATA said: “Please help us to build up a good picture of how English businesses have found the new inspection regime by filling in our quick survey.
“We’ll use this information – coupled with a Freedom of Information request we’re sending to English local authorities – to inform our talks with DEFRA, which are due to be happening soon.”
